3 Lessons in Critical Thinking
Three lessons in Critical Thinking, for the beginner and the advanced practitioner, approximately 20 minutes each. Lesson One reviews basic principals, rules, and tools for sifting through subtle and culturally entrenched lies, learning to lower our radar to pick up the most low-flying lies, in the search for truth. Lesson Two is an adventure in the practical application of these principles. It examines a Los Angeles Times article on the crack-cocaine trade. The Times viciously attacked Gary Webb for his book, Dark Alliance, detailing the CIA's role in the crack trade. A careful analysis of this article reveals that the evidence here presented, by the Times, is more explicit, and more powerfully incriminating, and more revealing of government complicity in this terrible crime than anything Gary Webb, bless him, was able to put together in 800 pages. Lesson Three, like Lesson Two, is another practical application of the same principles, this time analyzing another Times article on the failed prosecution of a so-called "mastermind of 9-11", Lofti Raisi, by the US government. My student's provide some amazing answers and observations. Powerful stuff. Crafted to appeal to an audience of college professors and reprobate teenagers.
